I see you deleted the post about the nonsense in this blog, specifically the nonsensical contention that the June 28th date is a "special meeting". It's not.

Or that a "call" per the NRS is required to resume a convention from a recess. - Nonsense.

Now you say that you will not "allow" another date. It's not for you to allow or not.

It is completely up to the credentialled delegates not you.

The fact is that you are NOT reconvening the convention on July 26th.

It will come out of recess when the credentialled state delegates say it does and at no other time.

There is a new comment on the post "About Re-Convening the GOP Convention".

Comment:
When Quorum is achieved on June 28 and new leadership emerges you won't have too much to worry about anymore. Unfortunately the majority has been upset and as a result the majority will upset the minority. The more belittling of the majority of constituency the more resolve emerges to defeat the ruling administrators and install a set of leaders that listen to the constituency. Please arrive on June 28 restore the confidence in the state party and finish it up so you can begin uniting the party and have representation at the national level or can you say President Obama as sickening as it sounds. The previous convention example is doing wonders for convention training in every state and is well known outside of the U.S.A. as what to do and how to work within this slippery set of rules. For the sake of McCain in Nevada flexibility would serve the state party in spades and compromise and accommodate the majority. I doubt the lights will go off without notice again and business will get concluded in an appropriate and timely manner bringing the convention to a close.

Please come to your senses for McCain and the party.

Regards,

PRESS RELEASE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Mike Weber Endorses June 28th Republican State Convention

"Given the dismal performance of the Nevada Republican Party at the April Convention, I have no confidence that they have the ability to convene a fair and legitimate process," Weber stated.

Reno, NV, June 9, 2008: Long-time Republican leader Mike Weber has endorsed the assembly of Nevada Republican State Convention Delegates on June 28, 2008 at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno.

Responding to the Nevada Republican Party call back to Convention in late July, long-time Republican leader Mike Weber of Reno is throwing his support behind the Republican gathering being organized by Dr. Wayne Terhune.

“I have been involved in the Nevada Republican Party for over twenty years. Given the dismal performance of the Nevada Republican Party at the April convention, I have no confidence that they have the ability to convene a fair or legitimate process,” Weber stated. “The call to the Convention issued by the State Party Executive Committee is unprecedented, is not legitimate, and is not supported by Party rules or processes.”

Weber, a former Washoe County Party Chairman and four-time Delegate to the Republican National Convention, has served as Nevada’s representative on the national Committee on Rules at the last two national conventions. Dubbed “Mr. Rules” at the April convention, Weber has a demonstrated knowledge of party processes and a well-known reputation of fighting for open and fair Party procedures.

“I am excited that the Republican Party has attracted so many new people into the process from many camps. To welcome these Republicans into the process, I offered free Parliamentary Procedure classes open to all Republicans. Many new people and several Party regulars attended.” Over the past several months, hundreds attended Weber’s classes in Robert’s Rules, and these classes seem to have paid dividends. During the recent state convention many delegates credited Weber with providing them a familiarity in the process permitting them to express their viewpoints in the large convention crowd.

Now Weber has sided with Terhune to reassemble the Republican State Delegates to complete the business of the Republican Convention. They believe that they can provide a fair and open process that will be recognized by the national Party.

“Nearly two-thirds of the attendees at the April Convention demanded an open process of nominating and electing National Delegates. If these reasonable Republicans gather together at the Grand Sierra on June 28, we will complete the Convention in the best traditions of the Republican Party,” Weber stated. “I am prepared to defend this gathering all the way to Minneapolis in September. With all of the video available from the previous State Convention, Party leaders would be well-advised to drop their futile efforts to reconvene in July and join us later this month, lest they invite further national embarrassment to themselves and the Nevada Republican Party.”

POSTED 6/10/08:
---------------

Chairman Lowden,

Sadly, Imust always preface my posts with the now standard, "Please don't delete me" request.

I would like to question how your post of 1,419 words on the legality of the June 28th date omits the most critical word of them all: RECESS.

Though I appreciate the time and effort in educating us delegates, I would like to strongly question the omission of this particular word.

With only 5 minutes of searching, I found this rule quite easily:

http://www.rulesonline.com/start.html#rror_2.htm

Now, could you please clarify where exactly our convention stands? Are we convening, RE-convening, or most simply, coming out of recess? Surely you have legal counsel who would be happy to help us all understand this definition and we call all them move forward appropriately.

Thank you for your consideration, Iam simply too confused to make right from wrong on your definition of what is happening.

KC.

My initial post was 555. We are now to 576. I suspect she will delete this one also, so I will reprint it here. Please feel free to continue posting and reposting on her blog. The word will get out, inspite of her feeble attempt at censorship. Here is a copy of my post.

Sue,

I understand your position of deleting posts. Dissenting posts expose the apparent frauds that you and the party are perpetrating as the unethical behavior that they truly are. Illegally recessing a convention without a vote was a violation of the rules you claim to believe in. It was done after taking a vote and finding the results are not to your liking. That is UnAmerican. It is an attempt to manipulate the vote and it could be considered voter fraud. Failing to reschedule a convention in a timely manner and lying about the reasons is negligent at best. Trying to manipulate the vote is what the people of our free nation find reprehensible about dictatorial countries and goes against the very fiber of our nation. You should be ashamed of yourself for being part of these Un-American activities.

It isn't too late for you to turnaround and support a free and open electoral process. You are an American, and you have responsibilities as a citizen as well as a Party Official. Please call off your silly picnic, and come to Reno on June 28th. Please be here when we bring the GOP Convention out of recess and represent the candidate you support. We'd love to see you participate in the process and restore the unity of the Republican Party. On the TV show Nevada Newsmakers, you said how pleased you were about the growth in the Party. Here is your opportunity to embrace all those new members and show them that their decision was a good one. We look forward to your participation.

Sincerely
Todd Smith

Don't know if this will last on here more than a nanosecond. I know that Mike Weber's news release about his support of the June 28th convention, which refuted every bit of Lowden's blog, didn't last on here more than a blink of the eye. But if this does hit the round file immediately, at least the person who pushed the button saw that there are people out here who know the real score & aren't accepting the reasoning of Lowden. The convention on the 28th is going to happen. We will have a quorum. We will elect delegates. We will adjourn. Now go ahead & delete this. We're still going to blanket the state with the truth.

Yours in peace & truth,
Cynthia Kennedy

Are there room deals or specials lined up for the July 26th date. I need to start making plans and the sooner the better :-)

What will be really embarassing will be when the screen shots of this page before you delete dissenting comments and after get posted to the net.

"Deleting dissent" speaks to what to expect on July 26th?

You don't get it. Any convention is legitimate if the majority of the delegates to the State Convention say it's legitimate. The Nevada Revised Statutes on Election Law, Robert's Rules of Order, the State Party Bylaws, and the American tradition of representative democracy put the ultimate authority into the hands of the delegates, not into the hands of a few party insiders.
